Buffalo Criminal Defense Lawyer Examines Failing to Appear in Court

As an experienced Buffalo Criminal Defense Lawyer I am often asked what happens if a client fails to appear in court.  If you get arrested in the city of Buffalo and have to go back to Buffalo city court, there are three ways you can go to court. One, they will issue an appearance ticket; two, they can issue a summons; or they can keep you in custody and bring you to court for an arraignment the next morning. If you receive a summons or an appearance ticket, you are required to appear in court on a specific date. If you fail to appear in court, you will be issued an arrest warrant. If you fail to appear to any subsequent court dates, the court may issue an arrest warrant as well.
