Boat Accident Recorded Statement

When a client recently was injured in the Niagara River while boating, the insurance company for the negligent party wanted to take a recorded statement from him. This client contacted us to ask if that was okay. We advised him that under no circumstance should he give a recorded statement to the insurance company.

The insurance company has adjusters who are specially trained to elicit information that is beneficial to the insured or the insurance company and not necessarily to the client. Their goal is to minimize the amount of money paid out on a claim.

If you were injured in any type of boating accident on the waterways around Western New York and have any questions about giving statements to insurance companies, call our office to schedule a free consultation.
