Youthful Offender Status Eligibility

I was recently asked as an experienced Buffalo Criminal Defense Attorney if a client was eligible for youthful offender status for a crime.  If the offender is 19 years or younger and charged with a criminal charge in New York, you may be eligible for youthful offender status.  I advise clients as a Buffalo Criminal Defense Attorney that if the court finds you eligible, your criminal conviction will be annulled and you will no longer have a record.  However, you could still see fines and some penalties after being found guilty.

Underage Drinking

  • underage drinking is not a minor charge; if your child is charged with underage drinking contact an experienced lawyer immediately.

Charged with Hazing

  • If a member of a fraternity at a university in Buffalo is charged with hazing, he has violated the law.
  • Although hazing is not a criminal offense, the offender can spend up to 15 days in jail.
  • It is important that an experienced criminal defense attorney is contacted immediately, because repercussions can affect, not only one’s career, but his education and college status.
