Buffalo Criminal Defense Attorney on Failing to Register as a Sex Offender

Do you have questions about failing to register as a sex offender? If so, contact our Buffalo Criminal Defense Attorney Arthur Pressman.

As an experienced Buffalo Criminal Defense Attorney I am occasionally asked what happens if a sex offender doesn’t register as one. If you’re convicted of a sex offense in New York State, you’re required to register as a sex offender with the Department of Corrections and Parole. If you fail to register as a sex offender or if you fail to follow the rules such as notifying them of a change of address or a new address, you can be charged with additional crimes under the corrections law. In Buffalo city court, I’ve represented hundreds of defendants who were charged with this.
